First Lady Jill Biden reveals disquieting details of first surfboard to therapy group: “It was white with a big butterfly on it!”

Can you guess who shaped? Does it even matter?

U.S. President Joe Biden wife, Jill, has traveled to the heart of English surfing, Cornwall, for the very important G7 summit. While the leader of the free world meets with his counterparts and discusses various ways to squeeze China, the First Lady took time to meet with Bude Surf Veterans, a group that helps military men and their families cope with trauma through surfing.

Ms. Biden praised the “healing power of the waters” and also announced she, too, was a surfer, even describing her first board.

It was “with with a big butterfly” on it.

Very cool and doesn’t it make you wish for simpler times? Before you knew, or cared, about length, width, fin set ups, liters, who shaped and boards could just be described by their colors and adornments?

It does me.

What was your first surfboard?

Mine was rainbow.

What was World Surf League CEO Erik Logan’s?

Hmmm.

I watched Episode 6 on Saturday ….. My 7 year old was screaming at the Emperor ….. YOU ARE WRONG , YOU ARE GOING DOWN ! and cheering madly when Vader picked him up and through him down the shaft .

James Bickerton

My first board was a disgusting $20 Shane Popout which was more ding then board , a hole drilled through the fin for a pre urethane legrope , a cord covered in some type of black rubbery stuff An ABSOLUTE PIECE OF SHIT ! ….Luckily , my dad left it on the roof of the car in an Hibiscus filled Valley on our first night on holidays and some Drug Riddled Hippies stole it … Sucked in Hippies …. So we went to see Bob Cooper at Coffs and he got me onto a 6’8” Brian Cregan rounded pin , single fin , with beautiful blue rails and an a yellow deck and never looked back .

Rash Monsters ……I can still feel the red welts on inner arms , thighs and chest 50 years down the track

I found your tale both enthralling yet familiar

Charles, your journalistic merits have been solidified with this headline and article. I salute you for your trigger-inducing take on hot copy for the surf-set. It’s like FoxNews leading the segment with ABORTION or Critical Race Theory

janeausten

toaster redux

I was living in Sth Aust at the time and I remember it was either a Strapper or a Trigger because it was a bit of a big deal having a board from interstate. Bright yellow, swallow tail with a flex tail and purple fin or fins, can’t remember the set up. Was the perfect board for me at the time and I rode it to death. Left it behind with a mate when we moved OS, never saw it again.

James Bickerton

Sounds like a beauty toaster …..Were you in Adelaide or in the sticks ?

toaster redux

Suburban but parents heavily involved in life saving so we were at some beach most weekends. Also spent school holidays typically around Streaky Bay area. Not many in the water back then, late 70’s.

James Bickerton

Paradise ….. and Noahs ?

toaster redux

It still is. Only time I saw sharks was at the Streaky jetty. There was a fish processing plant at the time and they’d occasionally follow the boats in.

Beef & Beer

Ok Chas
So you’re a fan of Speedos and your first board was rainbow coloured.
Is there something that perhaps you’re not being quite honest about with your wife ?
Or is that the norm for Cardiff via Coos blokes ?

Gelato Pickle

6’4″ Tris, purchased just up the road from where G7 is taking place back in 1987. About 4″ thick. Had to share it with my brother which meant doing shifts with a wooden bellyboard whilst waiting for my turn. It was too big for either of us to duck-dive so we’d surf in the bathing area to make the whitewater more fun. Dodge the Emmets we called it – a good way to learn how to turn.

Haminex ….. covered with the same blue material they make IKEA bags out of today …. I think it had a rubber fin ?

Return of the Samsung Board

With a butterfly on it

ValiantScorn

She’s a worthless, empty vessel. The twat was Bidet’s baby sitter when she was 15. There are some steamy pictures, that pretty much tell the story. I hope she dies, SOON! A horrible death. As for her lying about having a f surfboard with a “butterfly”(?) on it…..it’s just another one of her attempts to seem like more than some old dudes sex slave. Just when you think they can’t get any more kook, this pig speaks.
Edit: Dick Brewer 4,000ft long, and about 1 ton. I’m sorry to all the uncles out in the water I pissed off back then…..

Preston

This whole Biden thing is really eating at ya, no?

Chief Hot stuff

If you’ve ever read

6’4” Reno round pin, it was clear and had an orange and white glassed on fin. I wish I still owned it, but I can visit it occasionally!

StarJamma

Eh, a G&S 10′ log that was thin as a pancake. I think it got the nose snapped off. Wasn’t really mine tho, so I’d say the 6′ 2 quad.

James Bickerton

Gobble and Suck had a big factory at Taree Point near Cronulla so I often forget they were originally from San Diego ….. bought my first wetsuit off them in 75

FL Skunk Ape

Sunset single fin pintail. No color.
