The UN Climate Change Conference, or COP26, is currently underway in sunny Glasgow, Scotland and much news has been made thus far. United States President Joseph Biden surprised onlookers by apologizing to the world for his predecessor, President Trump, pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement and promised to do many good things for the environment moving forward before taking a well-deserved nap.
The menu, at the conference, was routinely mocked by climate activists for including meat and fish with one declaring “it’s like serving cigarettes at a lung cancer conference.”
And the World Surf League joined United World Wrestling, the New York Yankees, Ohio State University and others in pledging to cut all greenhouse gas emissions associated with said sport by half this decade.
Fine company.
Prince Albert II of Monaco, chair of sustainability for the International Olympic Committee, was bullish on the World Surf League’s leadership and said, “Few sectors have the power to inspire and the global appeal that sports does. We call on the other sports leaders to follow this lead.”
UN Climate Change Executive Director Patricia Espinosa praised the World Surf League by declaring, “Four years since we launched the Sports for Climate Action framework, more than 280 sports organisations have committed to the overarching objectives of aligning sport with the goals of the Paris agreement [established at COP 21 in 2015]. The sector eagerly took up the challenge, but also told us that they want to do more and to do it faster. These organisations are now being challenged to reduce emissions 50 percent by 2030 at the latest and to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040.”
And many bravos to the World Surf League for taking a firm stance. I do believe the greatest way to cut greenhouse gas emissions is by culling many surfers on the Championship Tour.
I also still like the Covid-era idea of putting the ten best men, women, on a clean, wind-powered sailboat and floating them around Indonesia.

100%, unless they plan to buy an island, run the entire tour from it – all season every season and have the Pro’s living there full time peddling bikes to generate power until emission globally are cut by 50% – this seems to be simply virtue signalling green washing.

the logistics of sailing from one place to the next is going to be tricky but good on em. all aboard JJfs boat after pipe, perhaps do Tahiti on the way to snapper, bike down the east coast of OZ, camel train over to WA, tall ship over to j-bay. etc etc. they could sell the tv rights for the travel days, probably be more sellable content than trying to market the surfing to the main stream

The Dept. Of Elections received enough separate reports to issue an order to polling location sstatewide. You’re misplaced belief that if there’s no video it didn’t happen is a losing position. No state agency would place themselves in such a position, especially an agency in charge of Elections if there weren’t bonafide reason to issue an in order.

In Virginia you can be 17 and vote in a primary election. It’s a confusing law because you’re not allowed to vote ina general election. Fraud requires intent. There is no prerequisite intent, and election authorities said no laws were broken by merely asking. Try again look.

He wasn’t handed a ballot. He didn’t submit a filled ballot. It did not happen twice. It happened once. Being 17, he legally voted in the primary election which got his father on the ballot. Due to the confusing nature of Virginia law, while allowed to vote in primary, he cannot vote in the general. He showed up, asked to vote, was denied and left.
He was allowed to vote in the primary. Why wouldn’t he think he could vote in the general?
Of course he wasn’t handed a ballot, we have systems in place to stop that sort of thing. Also, he wasn’t even registered, they asked him if he wanted to register and he refused.
Pretty cut and dry law:
Be 18 years old (any person who is 17 years old and will be eighteen years of age at the next general election shall be permitted to register in advance and also vote in any intervening primary or special election).
I find it odd that you think trying to vote when not eligible is not fraud, but somehow it is fraud for being turned away for not wearing a mask. One of which actually happened the other is still hearsay as no evidence has been found. If you have an actual grievance you gather the evidence and present your case, that is the American way.
