If they’re gonna keep the final 5 it’s gotta be on a wave that showcases all skills. I’d argue against Pipe coz a guy could win a title without doing a turn. No way Trestles, for obvious reasons.
Maybe Snapper, you seen the pits churning out there the last couple days? Maybe Cloudbreak…anywhere solid tuberiding and turns are possible/necessary
Cloudbreak yes, Snapper no way — that was the only CT contest I can remember where they had to extend the waiting period beyond 10 days due to zero waves.
Yeah Snapper in Sept is not ideal. It was simply an example to show what kind of wave they should be going for. That spot down south in Mexico maybe. Keramas. Take your pick. Just somewhere that requires all skills to win
Totally agree. Personally, Cloudbreak seems best choice but lots of spots could work. I don’t mind the final 5 format but having it at Trestles is a joke.
