You never get the idea that he is having a bad day, that there are competitors he does or doesn’t like, that he has any variable feelings about conditions and spots.
Could any of us do that?
That said, it would be fun if the announcers were like, “God it sucks today. Why is it on? Oh shit are we live?” Or “Going right into the slop, it’s Bobbi Sue Humuhumunukunukuapua’a-Jones. We talked to her this morning. What a bitch.”

I guess I don’t watch enough sports to have great announcers because they don’t bother me. The only other sport I really watch is cycling and the US announcers are super annoying. It’s always cycling 101 and over excited commentary. (“It’s an attack! Oh, he just going to grab a water bottle…”)
