I looked at both replays again, a day later, sober. Yeah, Gabby’s first turn is a savage power snap alright, then two rail carves and a strong finish. By comparison Bella has six turns, the last with some loose fins to punctuate a strong ride. I still wouldn’t be sure there is a point in difference between those two rides. But certainly Gabby’s last ride was sheer power, speed and flow at her brutal best. Deserved winner, no question. Be great to see her go all the way. World champ material.

Italo was out of sorts the whole heat. Waves were wonky. Jordy tried to lose with a few big mistakes.
