Nope. I turned it off and found alternative activities. This decision was 99.95% based on the drudgery of the commentary in the booth. It made the experience so much worse. I could not bear it….it was literally unbearable.

As a muslim country that doesn’t alllow Israeli citizens in there is no way the WSL can make that happen at anything beyond a regional QS level.
I for one would love to see Macaronis on tour as it handles all tides and allows the whole range of surfing we all want to see. But it ain’t gonna happen.
The hard truth is that yhe dream tour concept is done, the current logistical realities rendering it a pipe dream.
Edit: as far as numbers go the judges were being crazy stingy in their scoring, pretty much the stingiest they have been all year. There was plenty of good surfing to be had.

The commentary has taken a hit. @Barnycle:disqus has been linking up a heap of old threads and the commentary was definitely more interesting with a wider range of characters. Now we have SC talking about wanking and endlessly recycling the same lines. Not blaming him directly, but he’s played a part in dumbing down of the discourse. Maybe thats why I target him. Until the current tour structure of rolling with the tourism money evolves into something more palatable. We’re going to have to suck it up. If the surf industry hits a peak again and brands start dropping serious coin for search type events.
That mixed with the sheer number of surfers around now and the sort of return the brands will be expecting, might be the nail in the coffin with crowds & bullshit attached to those locations. I want to the surf industry to stay in its hole, with the little brands just humming along at a steady pace.
