Ross Williams says on the WSL web site today, the forecast is “epic” for Tuesday USA time, and Wed., and next weekend. JJF is in the contest.

umm, ya, I kinda like the sound of that, part of a tribe that travels the world (and the 7 seas), looking for and riding waves for ‘free’, (a—free-rider), with no thoughts of aggression or greed.

There is much to recommend this, although I do appreciate a good surf contest (which is unfortunately a rarity).
Today, I couldn’t be bothered. A big NNE swell is hitting the island, and I got to surf a sweet session at a rare spot. I’ll always take GOING surfing over WATCHING surfing.

Did anyone find any surf stories? I’ve been looking for one for a while. Maybe been swept under the rug or burried in the laundry pile? I’ll keep looking. What happened to the 90s? Why have so many of my heroes tried to fly off a cliff? There’s gotta be some answer somewhere? Not enough waves after the show ended. The cliff is too close to most. Just crumbling under the weight of recession, over weight depression cracking the sandstone. Easy to say walk away but the pain pulls us closer. Is the materialism or the victimizers remorse? I know its loss. Its beyond comprehension for me to imagine what some have gone through. All I know is I miss my heroes and wish they were still surfing. Are you still surfing. Its what keeps us derelicts alive. From the peanut gallery to the lineup. The paddle, the ride, the love! We keep each other going. The ocean will always be there for you. The ocean will always love you, unconditionally, forever!!
I got a story for you. The famiy house is about to be sold. 5 minites from the top of the trail at Blacks. My last connection to SD. Gotta suck it up. find a way. I may be washed up but never give up. couple surgeries and I could be back in the mix. Hope springs eternal. And I miss a lot of things too. At least i Have those memories to smile about in a drunken opiated haze. Cheers…
