I just lived in Tiburon for a while and would go body surfing at Rodeo Beach – A place that is surprisingly good on a South Swell.
But I didn’t try to fit in with anyone.
I strive for invisibility.
And I live pretty well in Malibu. I wouldn’t call it exile from humanity.
Human beings are not meant to be invisible.
Some prefer it. Where I live there are a lot of very wealthy and accomplished people who do their damnedest to be invisible.

An author from Marin. Reading her essay made me realize that good writers don’t just write perfect papers without going through the painful process of editing and revising.
I only read my stuff. And even then it’s just to do a word count to make sure I am paid properly so I can buy better meth.
And yes it’s all about rewriting.
The advice I give to anyine who asks is that when you start a story you have to spill your Tinker Toys before you can build your Castle.
Just dump it all out don’t worry about structure or length or anything.
Get it all out and then go back into shape.
That’s the fun part.
An ounce of good meth to your dome and you would be a proofreading animal. Your comments are immaculate.
