Jordy Smith appears in heat one. Kanoa Igarashi heat two. Kelly Slater, who is sometimes called the Greatest of All-Time, or GOAT, joins us for heat three. Will the women surf today? Will they even kick the event right off? Impossible to know.

I thought the score was fair. They replayed Kelly’s 5.7 (or whatever it was) and had three or 4 turns. Koa snowboarded it until the last section. It was a big hack but only one real turn on the wave.

That last overhead shot seemed to show all the outer reefs washing through down towards Pipe. I’m no expert, but I’d say too big!
At this size too big but Sunset is still fun when small. Good winds for Sunset can be crosshore at pipe. Don’t bother with either go Diamond Head and check out some hot Japanese bodyboarder chicks asses.
