Bethany Hamilton plays wild prank of T-Gals!
Bethany Hamilton plays wild prank of T-Gals!

Bethany Hamilton announces “new role as CEO of WSL” and immediately bans trans-surfers in provocative April 1 post

"I will remove the allowance of transgender males in the female category."

You’ll remember, last August, when Bethany Hamilton went on Tucker Carlson and hit a wide-range of right-wing talking points – Motherhood, Homeschooling, Marriage, How Social Media is Enslaving your Kids, Christianity and “Men Don’t Belong in Women’s Sports.”

“The World Surf League starts allowing males to compete in the female division and I’m the only one walking off that cliff and saying no, this is not okay. Somebody’s gotta say no!” said Bethany.

The thirty-five-year-old mammy of four, whose arm was bitten off by a tiger shark in 2003, and which was beautifully described by Matt George in a subsequent profile,  said it was the WSL opening the door to T-Girls to competing in the women’s div that shook her out of her island complacency and got her politically active.

The stance cost her a sponsorship with Rip Curl which pivoted to the, as it turned out, not-so-lucrative trans-woman market.

Bethany told Tucker she was speaking for tour surfers who felt muzzled and agreed with Kelly Slater who called for a trans-only div and added she’d boycott events if it went ahead. She also issued a prophecy, predicting Third World men would “suppress hormones” so they could get rich competing against women.

Phew!

Yesterday, as an April 1 prank, or retard test as they’ve come to be known below the line, Bethany Hamilton told her 2.4 million fans that she’d been made CEO of the World Surf League and that her first order of biz was to get the trans-gals out of the women’s div, a job easier than you think ’cause only the gorgeous Sasha Jane Lowerson neé Andrew Egan anywhere near a women’s div.

“Also,” wrote Bethany, “free speech for the athletes will be reinstated. This will be a great era for professional surfing.”

Anyway, turns out plenty of fans were thrilled with Bethany’s new CEO role, forcing Bethany Hamilton to jump online and reassure her fans she’s gonna remain a mama and stay the hell out of the corporate world.

“I’ve always loved putting on pranks. I do pull off some good ones here and there but this one was really fun, feeling good about this one,” says Bethany Hamilton. “I mean, honestly, I really don’t think I’m the CEO type. I’d rather just be with my children. And, like, this is the most beautiful gift to be a mom. I’d rather just be with my children and like this is the most beautiful gift to be a mom. I’m, like, if anything pulls me away from my children I’m not that interested in it. So, yeah, no CEO for me.”

Thrilled, disappointed?

Who’s in Bethany Hamilton’s camp and who be not?

And where does it place the red-blooded man who is both T-gal friendly and wildly pro family?

Chris Binns (left) in the mix (right)?
Chris Binns (left) in the mix (right)?

Concern grows for surf journalist’s well-being after he claims El Salvador “best stop on tour!”

"Is Chris Binns locked in a mega-prison?"

A whereabout investigation is currently underway for the Australian surf journalist Chris Binns after he published a disturbing story claiming the Surf City El Salvador Pro to be “must-watch” and the World Surf League Championship Tour’s “hottest new surf stop.”

Surf fans tuned in, today, to the Surf City El Salvador Pro and were left with haunting depression as the “world’s best surfers” were forced to struggle in brown wind-blown slop over greasy rocks.

And yet, Binns had just boldly claimed:

El Salvador is a Central American country that’s been changed by the sport of surfing, with tourists from around the world flocking to experience its waves. While La Libertad is one of many global locales that argue over the ‘Surf City’ moniker, the fact the WSL Championship Tour heads there every year is a strong endorsement of its claim.

He went on to write:

Did you know that El Salvador is the only Central American country without a Caribbean coastline? You do now! The Salvadorans have never let that fact bother them in the least and why would they, their 300km Pacific coast is teeming with world class waves. Nayib Bukele, El Salvador’s president, is a big believer in using tourism to turn around the fortunes of his once-troubled nation and that means he’ll do whatever it takes to attract surfers, who he sees as a crucial component of the country’s tourism makeup.

Nayib Bukele, El Salvador’s president, is also a big believer in jail. What proceeded, from Binns, was a Stockholm Syndrome bit of nonsense including:

El Salvador has long been on the adventurous surfer’s bucket list and while the challenges to overcome were many, the Salvadoran Holy Grail lay in the mythical, rifling tubes of Punta Roca.

And…

The Surf City El Salvador Pro has only run three times, yet in that short time its easy to see what a bellwether event it has been for the world title showdown.

Also…

El Salvador also demands that surfers allow themselves to relax a little, to conserve their energy in the brutal sun and hot water. The ice baths in the Red Bull Athlete Zone cool the body, but also allow the mind to calm, while chaos runs free in the backstreets of town.

Surf fans who accidentally tuned in to the worst day of professional surfing history since the Abu Dhabi Pro left scratching heads and wondering if Binns had been incarcerated in one of the nation’s famous mega-prisons and forced to write his way out.

Busily calling embassies etc.

Your feelings?

More as the story develops.

Socially progressive World Surf League to plant bush outside notorious El Salvador mega prison

"For the inmates, chiefly the ones there accidentally, the bush will represent life's simple joys..."

Exciting times in professional surfing, what with Kelly Slater being gifted one last shot at a 12th title and the World Surf League Championship Tour rolling into so-hot-right-now El Salvador. The Surf City Pro opens its waiting period, tomorrow, in La Libertad and our heroes and heroines are already there, practicing their trade on the Little Thumb’s user-friendly waves.

Less than one hour away, by car, is the now-famous Terrorism Confinement Center at the pointy end of the Trump administration’s mass deportation program. Immigrants, labeled as Venezuelan gang members, were absconded by plane in the dead of night and dumped in the sprawling complex over a judge’s express order to chill opening the door for a potential constitutional crisis.

Built in in 2022, the largest prison in Latin America has the capacity for 40,000 people. According to Foreign Policy, “El Salvador now has the highest incarceration rate in the world, with 2 percent of the population in prison. The country’s prison population has exploded from an already overcrowded 38,000 people at the beginning of (President) Bukele’s administration in 2019 to an estimated 120,000 people today. Most prisoners have not yet been convicted of any crime.”

Sin Libertad.

Conditions inside are described as extremely bleak with lack of bunks, wanton violence and bad vibes. Life not fun, at all, for those trapped behind bars and especially those trapped behind bars due administrative mistakes.

Well, the World Surf League to the rescue.

Known for being one of the most socially progressive of all sports’ leagues, the “global home of surfing” is reportedly planning on sending two or three of its stars to plant a bush outside the mega-complex, during one of the lay days, in order to brighten the overall mood.

“For the inmates, chiefly the ones there accidentally, the bush will represent life’s simple joys,” the director of the non-profit WSL PURE declared, continuing, “A small reminder that happiness comes from within.”

That last bit was seen as a subtle jab at Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, who toured the facility recently and reminded the inmates that happiness can also come from a $50,000 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona.

American dreams.

Kelly Slater gets wildcard to WSL Finals Day.
"Getting a wildcard to Finals Day at Cloudbreak is pretty wild—I mean, it’s Fiji, it’s one of the best waves on Earth, and I didn’t expect to be back in the mix like this,” says Kelly Slater.

WSL gifts Kelly Slater wildcard for Cloudbreak Finals Day!

“I’ve had my time, you know, but if they’re giving me one more shot to surf that place with everything on the line, I’m not saying no.”

With the world surf tour hanging by a thread following the quick fire retirements of its biggest drawcards, John John Florence, Carissa Moore and Stephanie Gilmore, and the catastrophic titty injury of Gabriel Medina, the WSL has made the bold step of gifting Kelly Slater a wildcard into Finals Day at Fiji’s Cloudbreak.

Kelly Slater, who is fifty-three, will take the fifth spot with the remaining four places being drawn, as per usual, from the end of season rankings.

The wildcard puts Slater on course for an improbable twelfth world tour.

“Kelly Slater stepped away from the full-time CT grind, but we’re stoked to award him this wildcard,” the WSL announced in a press release. “We can’t wait to see what he brings to Finals Day.”

The road to Kelly Slater 12 needs a little grease, of course, and a bigger than usual swell, and it’s improbable as all hell. But, when has improbable stopped Kelly Slater?

Cue, eight-to-ten-foot Cloudbreak, and the last meaningful swell of the 2025 season.

Finals Day is scheduled to take place within a competition window from August 27 to September 4, 2025. Unlike regular Championship Tour (CT) events with extended waiting periods, the WSL Finals is a one-day, winner-take-all event.

“Getting a wildcard to Finals Day at Cloudbreak is pretty wild—I mean, it’s Fiji, it’s one of the best waves on Earth, and I didn’t expect to be back in the mix like this,” says Slater. “I’ve had my time, you know, but if they’re giving me one more shot to surf that place with everything on the line, I’m not saying no. It’s not about the title anymore; it’s about riding a few more perfect barrels and seeing what I’ve still got.”
