Lemoore, in case you’ve never heard of it, is a quaint agriculture town located in the San Joaquin valley some three hours north of Los Angeles on the I5 freeway. It boasts foggy winters, the Sarah A. Mooney Memorial Museum and a wave that barrels for maybe a whole minute.

As amped as I have been since seeing this mythological create come to light here is my take on what is going to transpire. 1)Judging on expensive mono colored t shirts nobody will be able to afford the price. 2) Kelly built this thing to show off. 3) it will never be opened to the public. 4) Kelly sells the patent for an enormous fortune and disappears like Jimmy Hoffa. There it is boys and girls, take it or leave it, I have a 1 in 4 chance of being right.

Well good thing they are my statistics. out of curiosity, what did you plan to accomplish with your rebuttal? I sort of think I know the answer to my own question but I’m a benefit of the doubt type of guy.
It looks to me like a proof of concept kind of deal — aimed at either licensing deals or trolling investors. Because it ain’t exactly the most convenient part of town to draw a crowd. And yeah, sure seems like a toy for rich bros.
I certainly am no Debbie downer, and maybe it came across as such, but I am a realistic thinker. I see no trail where the average working man will have access to this ferrari. Would I love for the king to gift this to his subjects, absolutely, I just don’t see it happening.
The wave is sick, no doubt about that. Game changer really. If you want a controversy (or maybe not) find out how much water usage this takes to maintain. Farmers in the area don’t have water to grow crops when it’s their livelihood, so interested in the answer. Sustainable sewage water perhaps. Would explain the color.
I had that same thought yesterday. They don’t call that area “the dustbowl” for nothing. There’s also the irony of Eco warrior Kelly doing it in CA during a drought.
Looks like Mars driving through anywhere around there. Not a drop of water where I remember flowing rivers and big lakes. Spent a lot of time at Riverland on a boat as a kid. Kings River, Kingsburg, probably 20 minutes away. Nothing left of it. Looking forward to LemooreLine in the ’16 Outerknown Catalog.
The lake has been used by the Lemoore community for a number of years prior to Kelly’s wave for the same thing: recreation. This one lake is not exactly the water source that the community is begging for. I don’t really see an environmental controversy here. Although, there is undoubtedly a tad of irony in KSwaveco’s choice of location.
Agreed, I’ve been through there a million times and that little lake would just be a drop in the bucket. Just trying to stir the pot if you will…

not factoring in evaporation or cycling the water, his lake uses about
the same amount as 12 acres of cotton, which is nothing when it
comes to the amount of water that is wasted, yes wasted growing food in
the central valley. Its a dust bowl because of irresponsible farming
practices, not irresponsible water practices. No doubt there is a shit
load of water in that pool, but as far as waste goes, Kelly’s pool is a
drop in the bucket.

Yo Charlie, I saw you drive past the new surf school I set up today by the spot. I also get a nice view on the surf from my rooftop. Only problem is that we only see the back of the waves. That is when I realized I bought that house in the wrong street.
Is the basement Meth Lab included in the price? If it is that is one sweeeeeeeet deal. Make and sell meth at night whilst surfin’ all day. That’s California Dreamin’, kids.
