That was my point…JJF is the better surfer and losing him will hurt the WSL way more than losing Dane.
But I like watching the WSL hurt!
I heard its a chin injury. Those pube hairs have given him a nasty rash.
I guess this will be the story of what is left of JJF’s WSL career. Greatest surfer to never stay healthy long enough to win a Title. It happens in other pro sports all of the time so it shouldn’t surprise us. I desperately hope I’m wrong but I’m not feeling great about the situation.
his legacy doesn’t/won’t depend on titles any more than Dane’s has
I don’t entirely disagree but JJF’s earning potential and championship potential are mutually exclusive. I don’t ever doubt that his earning potential will always be at or near the top. However…he has more talent than Dane as a competitor and all around surfer. Dane has never crushed the reef breaks or the big wave stuff like JJF has. I will never tire of watching either guy but I suspect John’s career as a competitor is short lived because of the injuries.
