Professional longboarder Joel Tudor is known for three things: a peerless old-school longboard style, jiu jitsu, Instagram, conspiracy theories and marijuana. Oh he makes no secret of his appreciation for the marijuana plant and all its sundry glories. I imagine, if you catch him in the right mood, he could rattle off all the ways marijuana can be consumed, much like the shrimper Bubba in Forrest Gump. “You can smoke it, eat it, suck on it, dab it, vape it, rub it on your skin, drink it in tea, drink it in coffee, drink it in a smoothie…”
Now, I think marijuana is a wonderful gift, so much better than nasty opioids for pain etc. but the World Surf League disagrees and has it on its list of banned substances. Shall we read it together?

Well, Joel is surfing in his first World Surf League contest right now, the Longboard Classic, New York. He won his round one heat, won his round two heat, won his round three heat but lost his round four heat to the fiery Frenchman we all got to know last week but still advanced and then lost his round five heat, getting drummed from the event.
A fine run by any measure, made more fine in my opinion, by his open flaunting of Santa Monica’s ultra-square “rules.”
And before you tell me that Joel consumes CBD might I remind you that CBD is still a cannabinoid.
Joel is not only the rebel we need, he’s the rebel we deserve.

I once got some choco thai seeds from Ha. 82…little black striped buggers Plants leafs, stems etc were soft and pliable, covered with tons of hair. (prebud)…smelled like sweet chocolate. I wasnt able to get it to finish, as rats ate just the stems..Fukkers. Still remember that plant. Probably a very pure sativa strain.
The guy completely shreds with style and confidence and is not intimidated by social media.
I think it’s more about surfing and having fun for some of us vs. self image and air reverses
for others. Either way I like the way he surfs. It’s inspiring…

Well, its “interesting” and can be as subtle as…”nothing happened” to “oh my god”….Its very short acting, like 2 minutes, and you literally cant figure out what happened. Kinda like a sneaky morning golden tube ride that happens by accident. Wow, what was that? Kinda like good old school chocolate thai!!! (weed)

and maybe improve the surfing, where would surfing be without people like Christain Fletcher in the 80’s and many others in the past. Expanding the mind is good for surfing.

Helped me get over some other drug problems. So thanx Sage! That said, I never figured it out, just kinda weird, instead I got obsessed with growing seeds n plants strains, trading and sending cuttings round the world.and got my own named strain going…haha..then the cali drought hit, most of my nursery died, all the online communities went bonkers, gave the whole thing up. When you see pics of flowering salvias, odds are some mine!! (we showed that hummingbirds do a large part of the pollination, getting seeds naturally being near impossible )
I hope the medical community can find a use for it, seems like it has potential for? Addiction therapy, like ibogaine? I dunno. Kinda spooks me now, havnt sampled any in over 10 years. Luna strain plants still growing ok though.

Geez for a guy 10 years younger than me, he looks like shit.
he probably spend way more time in the surf and sun than you, i have nothing but respect for the guy i live in velzyland and when he is in there wich is quite often he is the all time in the water numerous surf sessions i have also seen the guy paddle out at pipeline 8 ft in a semi longboard that looked like a wood plank no leash like no rocker and get a set wave.
