Three words: Pacific Systems Homes.
The other day, I just so happened to be walking past the living room bookshelf when a title caught my eye. Six by Seuss. I hadn’t noticed it before, slid it from its place, wondering what the “six” were. The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins, Horton Hatches the Egg, The Lorax, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street.
A chill ran up my spine.
Hadn’t Mulberry Street just been cancelled? It certainly had and for racist depictions, I believe.
I raced to the window, making sure no progressives were in the bushes, observing me with their all-seeing third eyes, then went to the computer to see how much Mulberry Street is currently fetching on the open market.
$850.
A hushed whistle escaped my lips.
Not that I would ever profit off anything tawdry but you can for in a very short few weeks, for then the California Gold Surf Auction and let us read the press release together.
An exciting array of unique, rare surfboards and memorabilia are on the auction block. The California Gold Surf Auction theme is “Guns, Wood and More…”. Prime elephant guns by Dick Brewer, Mike Diffenderfer, and Greg Noll lead the way. Jaw-dropping wood, including boards by Richard Gomez, Barry Kanaiaupuni, and Pacific Systems Homes, highlight the wood category. The auction offers something for every serious board collector including a Greenough Edge Board, Paipos and a selection of small Waikiki Rotary Club boards. All bidding takes place online. On April 16th at 5pm PST the California Gold Surf Auction lots begin closing and lots close every two minutes.
Exciting is right but do you know what those Pacific Systems Homes surfboards were called?
Swastikas.
Bid low, re-sell high.
You’re welcome.

The only thing worse than the marauding “cancellers” of the woke world, is the endless whining from the white grievance coalition. When your response to whiny bitching, is to become self righteous whiny bitches, you sort of lose the high ground.
This reads like a student writing about current events without understanding current events 🤣
How many times do people need to be made to understand that Dr. Seuss was NOT cAnCElleD? His estate and his publisher conducted an internal review and decided to retire a few of his older works for having racist imagery. There was no protest movement that caused it. It was a decision made by his estate and everyone blathering about cAncEllAtiOn sounds like an idiot.
I think that everyone who tries to diminish or smooth over the precursors to banned speech/books sounds like an idiot too. Also just because you didn’t see a “movement” in your instagram feed doesn’t mean they haven’t been under constant pressure for years.
Actually you’re wrong. National reading day is Dr Seuss’ birthday. They’re no longer celebrating him during this day because they want children to read more diverse books. So he was cancelled from the celebration of reading that was founded for him.
Maybe we can have our kids read the diverse lyrics of WAP or other fun filled music they pump out these days.
So what’s your point Chas? Swastikas have been an ancient religious symbol for centuries. There is no Nazi symbolism or use of the crooked cross in your photo. Your feeble bit of sensationalism has fallen flat.

Shit, was that Dave Gilmour playing Bass stage right?
Before you all get your panties in a wad about this surfboard, the company, like that of Dr. Suess, changed the name when the name became out of fashion.
“Although a symbol of harmony and good luck in various cultures around the world, the swastika disappeared from Pacific System Homes surfboards with the rise of Nazi Germany, and the company changed the name to Waikiki Surf-Boards in 1938.”
Yes, true, “in the Western world, it was a symbol of auspiciousness and good luck until the late 1930s. It was even on some USA government buildings and some U.S. road signs on state highways into the 1940s.
The swastika continues to be used even today as a symbol of good luck and prosperity in Hindu, Buddhist and other countries such as Nepal, India, Mongolia, China and Japan.”
One of the biggest Val’s of all time Daniel Duane, even tried to paint a whole conspiracy theory around the company, even claiming, implying, that the company and any surfer that rode one of those boards was a racist. I think it’s stems from the fact that Daniel Duane, as a beginner Val, (true story) saw a swastika on the stairs leading to the beach with writing next to it saying, “kooks go home”. I think he was so itimidated by it, it may have emotionally scarred him for life.
You can even find swastikas in old Christian churches, carved into the original stone that they are built from.
“enjoy the thrill of a swastika”
Ummmm…Lana not cancelled.
Yes huh. Keep up.
For something that happened 10 months ago? Clearly not cancelled. Nor was Dr. Seuss. If what we’re supposed to keep up with is an attempt at satire, I would instead suggest not attempting satire (or get better at it). And if it’s not…maybe pull your head out of the sand?
Crying about it so much, maybe you can finally just profit from Cancel Culture and offer up some prints of the site’s previous cancellable merch designs…
