You, by now, know my position on the whimsical. I do not like it one bit. I want my quaint quaint, my humorous humorous and do not want the twain to meet… until this morning when the most whimsically wonderful surfer from Portugal put a tear in my eye and a smile on my face.
But would you like to Nuno Santos, whom Fodors calls the most interesting man in Portugal?
Nuno grew up loving music and also surfing Nazare, which I thought was only surfed by Garrett McNamara alone for many years but maybe I’m confusing it with Mavericks.
In any case, Nuno grew up loving music and also surfing and, one day, decided to combine the two “just for the sake of it.” So he bought a cheap violin and towed right in.
“I remember the first time I did it, I was going down the wave, and obviously we’re talking about very big waves, but, I was laughing so hard and I’ve never laughed when I’ve surfed a big wave because I’m scared,” he told the travel magazine. ““I was like, this is ridiculous, this is so fun!”
And the tears are welling up again.

That’s the great thing about making a video with pre-recorded music over it. You can’t truly be sure he’s doing a goddamned thing. I had mentioned in a comment above “of him playing with excellent technique and posture.” This would be his only saving grace. Otherwise, he’s just a cunt with a violin in the fucking water.

How’s the health Off?
Sad to report I’m circling the drain again. I Keep getting ground down to base substance when my chemo stops working and I get an aggressive recurrence, followed by a new chemo and having to rebuild through the side effects, second time now since Xmas. I’m back to being bedbound again, can’t walk more than a few metres, needing a lot of personal cares, pain when eating is a bastard. Lots of nausea this week with my new chemo, hard to keep the calories down and going in. But I persist on. Haven’t been out of the house except for chemo or pall care ward for over a month now, really want to get well enough to get back into my wheelchair and go sit on greenmount hill or Burliegh for a few hours when the next swell is on. Thanks for asking man.

I took care of my father with my mother who also had it,I can imagine how you are going.
My father had to have the TV remote next to him in bed and would always ask me to put boxing, or WWll docos on.
