Iranian Missile Plunges Into Tel Aviv’s New Wave Pool Amid Escalating Barrage

Pretty blue-water Tel Aviv tank becomes unlikely casualty of war!

In the latest flare-up of the Iran-Israel conflict, a righteous battle pitching the forces of modernity and liberal ideals against a medieval theological regime, debris from an intercepted Iranian missile landed directly in the newish Tel Aviv wavepool, briefly transforming the pretty blue-water tank unlikely casualty of war.

Israeli air defences neutralised most of the incoming threats during multiple waves of attacks, including cluster munitions that scatter fragments mid-air. 

While scattered debris caused minor damage elsewhere, near a Holon train station, vehicles in Or Yehuda, and structures in Rinatya, no direct strikes hit the park, just the hunks of shrapnel. The all-clear came swiftly, allowing surfers to shimmy on the little waves without harm.

Why aren’t the streets strewn with the bodies of dead Jews? See, in Israel, money is spent on bomb shelters and not offensive tunnels.

Sirens howl, into the bunkers you go.

A pal of mine in Tel Aviv says he and his family run to the shelter five to ten times a day.

“It’s intense,” he says. “The missiles are huge.”

He sends a video of what happens when the shrapnel from the Iranian missiles hit the ground.

“This is five hundred metres from my home in front of the Hilton Hotel.”

While it isn’t the greatest time to visit to taste the exquisite fruits of the most progressive city in the whole of the Middle East, bombs aimed at it from five different enemies mean you gotta keep your head down, the wave pool there has made it a must-visit when the noise dies down, which it will. 

In Tel Aviv, and unlike Jerusalem a couple of hours drive away, there are no heavy vibes, religion is kept at arm’s length, mostly, along a promenade that runs along the ocean-front you’ll find 12 clicks of sometimes very good beachbreaks, jetties and reef, and now, on the outskirts of town, is the new Wavegarden tank.

There isn’t anything particularly special about this tank, but if you were ever thinking about a surf trip where the food, gals and hospitality are world-class, and you still get to wave your board around, think: Tel Aviv. 

It’ll be an eye opener for the Yay Palestine crowd. Where are the blood-thirsty hook-nosed Yahuds? Where is the so-called genocide?
