Mr Slater just dropped a new clip of Stephanie Gilmore scoring at smoking little pocket ride on his wave machine. It’s really getting hard to write this thing off. Looks so damn fun.
I would love to see some lesser-skilled surfers ride the thing.
Mainly because I’m sure it’s more difficult than they make it look and some wavepool wipeout carnage would be entertaining.
In other news, I’m still waiting for my invite. Wonder why it hasn’t arrived yet? Probably due to, you know, politics and stuff. I keep it too real.

Yeah it’s a legit pool and KS is the man for creating it…But they really should have incorporated some obstacles throughout the artificial module! Like some old people with floaties and let’s chuck some barbed wire in for all the kooks that fall off so they really think twice about jumping back in a second time…Oh that’s a bit heavy, but I guess were truly jealous it’s not us surfing in the shit pits…Jokes kelly! FFS , when is a tube not a tube? According to the WSL , when the nose of your board can’t be seen by the judges. So far no-ones scored , , would rather see a nice wall , and sections and guys doing turns than just sitting outside the tube trimming ,boring!
This is just the beginning, by the time version 9 rolls out, even the biggest cynic will be eating his hat.
I certainly hope so , but will it really take till version 9 , us old fossils can’t bend down that low in the tube , we need to do soul arches , and hang five as we all know gen Y doesn’t have the moneyhahaha…….
I guess the whole idea of an exact replica wave, unless It really a lot bigger , would lose its wow factor after how many waves?

Steph surfs this well and all, but it’s the surfing equivalent of softcore porn. No danger, no drama, just scene after scene of half clothed missionary position. I’ve never been more flaccid.
When do the dick draggers get a go at it..?? Haven’t enough surfers been saved by them this year…??
