Seattle-based mail-order business, Amazon, via its Prime Air division (launching August 31), has revealed patents for a drone-powered towing system for skiers, surfers and skaters.
The drone would be very clever and allow the surfer to summon the drone to his location, fulfilling every lazy man’s dream of an easy and triumphant return to the lineup.
In 2013, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos revealed his plan for drone deliveries, something that has yet to happen, as well may be the case here.

No way would a drone have the power needed to pull a surfer out through the water against incoming waves. Unless it was basically full helicopter size.

Can you imagine the airspace over the superbank? The potential for drone collisions/tangles? Bereaved relatives suing Amazon when a drone falls out the sky and drowns a twelve year old ripper could make it all go away though.
Big wave tow partners/jet ski drivers won’t be sleeping well off the back of this announcement.

basically what i am saying that cameras, wave pools, surf reports, exposing breaks, all it is a sale of one way or another, putting a board on a honda to sell the life.. yes it happened in the 60-s and more.. but it just sucks for those who sacrifice to learn and live the life.. imagine that fucking drone in the backcountry, when your trying to “earn your turns” and some fuckwit tech guy comes out with his own personal rope tow up.. be a real pleasing day.. same thing has happened with surfing.
But I’m still the type of guy that can afford an “assault charge”. With all the bs going on it will never make it to court. I usually just pay medical expenses, and court cost.(lawyer/retainer) That being said, no matter what gets invented most people are cowards and just need to be tuned properly.
I don’t think the physics work, the drone probably needs to be much larger, like helicopter size.
