I have a held theory , since 1985 ,that 90% of pro free surfers are more competitive than surfers who actually compete in competition , willing to put their surfing souls on the line for judges and the general surfing public , all 105 of us ( the 5 are the judges ), to stamp and squeeze and ridicule and tear into tiny pieces , pick apart atom by atom , while the cunty pro free surfer chooses his clip of 5 minutes from 6 months of surfing , dropping and fading one and all , in a so called non competitive environment , just so he / she / it can get the shot ?
Even worse are the super competitive surfers who will never compete , but paddle inside and drop in on everyone , all the time ….. while claiming to be to cool to compete ?
