Work from Home surfer goes viral.
Work from Home displays excellent taste in surf craft, a Biolos-designed RNF by the looks of that sexy lil logo in the bottom quadrant.

Aussie surfer rides waves on company time in viral “Do Nothing” vid

“It’s 11:00am on a weekday, shouldn't you be at work?”

A week back, Australia’s most indebted state, Victoria, famous lately for installing safety disposal bins for the suddenly outlawed machetes, announced plans to introduce legislation in 2026 that would enshrine the right for employees to work from home at least two days a week, provided their job can “reasonably” be performed remotely.

Reactions were divided for and against the ol’ working from home thing but didn’t really light up until a Gold Coast surfer was filmed going for a shred while saying he was “working from home.”

An Argentinian posted a TikTok wondering why the hell the beach was so crowded on a weekday morn.

“It’s 11:00am on a weekday, shouldn’t you be at work?” he asked the surfer who replied that he was “working from home.”

@zalosalty It’s 11 am on a weekday… shouldn’t you be at work? Who says you can’t surf and still show up for your family? Tag a dad who’d do the same ‍♂️ #kirra #snapperrocks #goldcoast #coolangatta #surf ♬ sonido original – ZALO

Thank god for work forhome laws

He’s not a sheep

vs

everyone i know working from home say they virtually do nothing

I come from a school of thought that working from home, like the utopian theory of communism, don’t work ’cause it jams itself against human nature. If there’s no chief slinging death stares at your every time you gaze out the window or wander to the fridge for a lil snack, productivity sinks.

Man, I know it. Been a home worker for a real long time. It takes the discipline of a Shaolin Monk to nail even the simplest task. Every morning I promise myself I won’t get lost in X, wander the streets, play roly-polies on the beach, drift into endless internet marketplace browsings, but each day, same thing.

Conversely, I also believe that the theatre of office work, being paid to sit at a desk whether you’re doing work of value or not, eats a man’s soul in front of him.

Solution?

You get told what your job is and what the scope of work is. You do it, in four, six, twelve hours, you get paid your agreed age, you split.

Work from home, work on the road, sit in a grim blue-carpeted office, whatever.

Our homes all got so nice. I used to love going to the office because it was super flash and my home, a hovel. Now, I have a gold kitchen tap.

I thought most of the young Aussy surfers were “on the dole” and didn’t have to work at all?

We’ve all been had by the 40hr work week. It’s outdated now even or especially for trades. But ironically those cunts will work sun up- sun down because it’s lucrative, fair play to the feisty ute wielding road ragers. I’ve been a senior manager role type and office wise, 6hrs a day TOPS and that would be plenty. I tried the WFH thang and yep, distractions get the best of me every single time. Anyone that can jag it and make it happen though I tip my cap.

I think you mean “agreed wage,” not “agreed age” as written. If you had a boss looking over your shoulders, you’d have gotten that write.

The worst thing about this story is the Aregntinian kite surfing nine ball getting clicks on his objectively shit ‘work to live’ Gold Coast-based Instagram channel.

Nothing will convince me that a surf can be done in a 1hr lunch break. Work from home has been the worst thing to happen to surfing. VALs as far as the eye can see at all surf breaks.

Its the same on the golf course. I guess they have these apps where you can activate it on your computer and it makes it look like you are working but in reality you are on hole 7 on a Friday looking for your ball in the woods. Pisses me off.
