Election day, in the United States of America, is still six months off but you certainly wouldn’t know it from the ink spilled covering races here and there. Major question being asked: will Democrats be able to ride a wave of Trump’s low approval ratings/high prices and take both the House of Reps and the Senate or will the party fumble as it often does?
An interesting storyline for the Dems long seeking a “face of the brand” is the rise of JFK’s grandbaby Jack Schlossberg. The 33-year-old is being touted as the “new hope” of the party and has embarked upon his first political campaign, attempting to win New York’s 12th congressional district, which covers much of lower Manhattan. The primary is just around the corner, in June, and Schlossberg is in a tight race against State Assemblymembers Alex Bores and Micah Lasher for the Dem nod. Former husband of former Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway, George, also has his hat in the ring.
The winner will almost certainly be elected to congress as the district has gone Dem since 1960.
The candidates are out trying to get every vote they can, trying to avoid controversial topics (like US support for Israel), trying to alienate no one.
Schlossberg, for his part, is doing his damndest to make both goofy and regular-footed surfers feel as if he belongs to them.
The brunette took to social media, overnight, to release a poster declaring he would provide “A new wave for New York.” It featured Schlossberg with neither right nor left foot forward but both forward together.
In truth, the 6’2 hunk is a regular, a seemingly competent one at that, but leaving screwfoots on the table, he risks losing the seat and, thus, feeling sad.
A sensible move.

the problem is, we aren’t dealing with Iran right now. they aren’t even coming to the table. we could militarily reopen the Straight of Hormuz, but we’d need boots on the ground and a good 6 months of minesweeping thereafter to clear it of mines (or at least confirm the mines aren’t where Iran says they’ve mined). we’ve depleted some of our most critical munitions by 50%, which will take like 2-4 years to replenish. an authoritarian government like Iran can withstand the U.S. blockade far more effectively than the rest of the world can withstand Iran’s blockade. the only way to get Iran to even postpone its nuclear ambitions at this point (but remember that there was a deal that was working that did precisely this, which Trump withdrew from in his first term) is regime change. and that would require 500K American boots on the ground minimum. but good for you, MAGA. your dumbass king started a war that he has no power to end.
