"We want the men accused of murdering our sons to see, in person, the human consequences of what happened."
Two years ago, now, the surf world was shocked after it was revealed that two Australians and their American friend who had traveled to northern Baja for a typical surf mission had been brutally murdered. Jake and Callum Robinson, aged 30 and 33, had set out with Jack Carter Rhodes, 30, on all-too-familiar venture down the peninsula. It was there that they were allegedly attacked and killed, their bodies being dumped down a cliff-top shaft.
The trial for the three men accused of the atrocity, Jesús “El Kekas” Gerardo, Irineo Francisco and Ángel Jesús, is just now getting underway in Ensenada with the Robinsons’ parents traveling from Australia to observe. “We want the men accused of murdering our sons to see, in person, the human consequences of what happened,” father and mother Martin and Debra Robinson said in a statement. “Callum and Jake were not simply victims in a case file – they were our sons, deeply loved by their family and friends, with lives, dreams and futures that were brutally taken away.”
“It’s about representing our sons, being here for them. I know they want us to be here,” Martin Robinson told reporters. “We want to find out what happened. We want to find out why.”
On the first day, three witnesses were called including the step-son of one of the accused. He described the man as “violent” and had accompanied the group to the crime scene where he said he “heard a lot of noise” before running off. Later, he was called back and told “the same thing that happened to the gringos would happen to him” if he uttered a word.
Dozens of witnesses are set to be called for the trial that is expected to last four weeks. The fate of the accused to be decided the judge alone.
Last year, Ari Gisell, one of the accused’s ex-girlfriends, was convicted of aiding and abetting and is currently serving a 20 year sentence.

Yeah fair enough. I’m half paying attention to several things today and that went over my head.
I was posit that the psychos in America’s taste for violence and abuse relates to the aforementioned observation that they are indeed, psychos, and that the poor villager hustles people for money because they are impoverished. They are not the same.

Totally agree. That came off wrong.

Brazilian bodyboarder, with very strong preferences.
Brah, not trolling you in any way whatsoever. My apologies.
Nah, ancestry testing shows no indigenous blood but plenty of North Africa/Spain area. Was an ancestry convo, not a nationality thing.
Now I know. 🤷🏼♂️🤙
Was just messing around, no ill intent.
Was just curious. I once told my mother in law, who is from the border and thinks she’s Mexican through and through, that she’s actually Spanish not Mexican. I got a heavy tongue lashing in Spanish after that one. 😂
You have to dislike non-whites to understand.
I know you were just joking about our Soy Soy but these ain’t joking matters. Some of us don’t like our Soy Soy and our EE being disparaged on such a fine evening, so close to the Lowers event 😉
