Rumor: World Surf League CEO Erik Logan to unfurl big announcement tomorrow morning!

Ch-ch-changes!

Oh this rumor is just too hot, just too spicy, and also too static-ridden to make out completely but rumors are swirling, whispers that the World Surf League, our World Surf League is set to unveil changes, re-sortings, post-Coronavirus Apocalypse re-reckonings likely long overdo tomorrow.

Tomorrow!

But what?

But when?

But how?

But really?

Oh that static.

That damned relentless static.

I mostly blame AT&T U-Verse who provides me a level of service so subpar as to be of absolutely no use to you, or anyone, but the rumors sizzle.

Sear.

Seer?

What could they be?

What might the changes bring?

More as the story develops.

I think the big news is their stupid surfbreaks thing got nominated for some web series award. Truly dismal times. I hate the wsl now. I wanna blame Elo but truth be told it was a flaming pile of shit when he grabbed the reigns anyways.

Cheeky fuckers have copied my template previously suggested here:
Split season – Challenger Series/WCT.
Regional focus for remaining QS events so guys don’t waste as much time/money building their seed.
Basically faster progression of rising talent, & less expensive for most QS guys who can work/freesurf for the rest of the year.

My guess is they won’t be using those old ads “It takes ….. to make a Champion”

One of the bigger questions I have at the moment here in New Jersey… the armpit of the East Coast of The Empire… how is it that on my device this hot-off-the-press report said “14 minutes ago” when I took the bait and clicked, yet there are comments for this hot dispatch here from “2 hours ago, 3 hours ago, etc.” Is there a High Castle time bend option on Beach Grit that only the good commenters are privy too?

Shit mate! If New Jersey is the “armpit of…”, that makes the home of ECSC the “the naval of…” and/or “the taint of…”

Due to surfing bans and travel restrictions…and the fact that the WWE is the only sport functioning…this year’s World champion will be decided in the ring…royal Rumble style!
Gabe is the early favourite but I got my money on Jeremy…sneaky french bastard would do whatever was required

Watch out for a Bobby Martinez wildcard spot

I feel like it would be kind of like that episode of the Simpsons where Homer takes up boxing, and his tactic is just to stand there letting the other guy throw endless punches until they’re eventually too tired and pass out.

Bring back Mick Campbell and Bobby, put them in opposite sides of the draw and enjoy the final, they could make a reality tv show out of it called the contender

We did a speed test on our download rates yesterday after finding out Australia lags at 63rd in a list of developed countries with a rate of 42-43 mega bits/second (not bytes). We cracked 23. Thought that was pretty crappy, but then our mate down the road a little further from the node, checked this morning at 4am. 6 mega bits/second.

I wish we had static.

Australia’s internet speed is a joke. I’m just hopeful that the covid spreading 5g towers speed things up a bit.

I work for a guy who is a fan of the 5g ‘theory’. Showed me a video of a guy ‘explaining’ it. I asked who he was? “He’s been working in the ‘field’ for 30 years, so he knows what he is talking about.” Cursory check on the internet revealed a) the origin of the 5g bad theory was a GP (local doctor) in Belgium who was being interviewed about coronavirus and said the virus isn’t a big deal, we should be worried about 5g towers. He then admitted he didn’t have any facts or evidence to back that up. And b) the video was produced by a leading anti-vaxxx doctor who had been de-registered for falsifying data to support his ‘theories’. Possibly under the influence of relevancy deprivation syndrome.

I remain skeptical until I get some hard evidence through sources trusted by BG.

Am I the only one that feels that this pandemic has been the best thing for surfing since fiberglass and foam?

Mate, all the shitty foreign freedom campers are gone.
Kiwis can actually get a park in fucken beachside carparks !
The only benefit the scumbags bought to nz was to a few supermarkets and a few gas stations.
And of course Maui, Jucy and the campervan companies. I hope they all go broke and this style of tourism never, ever returns.

Ain’t it grand! If you actually do something these days it’s the exception not the norm… the best few months in the past hundred years at least!
