That recently reconstituted surfing magazine, Surfer, has come under fire from its readership after a post giving hell to America’s daughter Ivanka Trump.
Ivanka, the daughter of President Trump and the now sadly in the dirt Ivana, had posted a lovely series of photos enjoying the sport of kings and queens for World Ocean Day.
There’s no place I feel more free, more grounded, and more at peace than in the ocean.
It restores, it humbles, and it inspires.

Surfer magazine, a notoriously white CIS male operation although not as notoriously white and apex predatory as BeachGrit, came in swinging.
There are a few unwritten rules of social media, including, but not limited to: don’t like someone’s photo from 2013, unless you’re intentionally flirting; keep the selfies to a minimum, except if you’re like really, really ridiculously good looking; and amidst national and/or global crises, in which peoples’ lives are being drastically impacted, press pause on the frivolous content.
Ivanka Trump, daughter to POTUS, broke the last rule recently when she posted a series of images showing her surfing in honor of World Oceans Day, while her father’s administration unleashed the national guard and marines to Los Angeles to quell demonstrations opposing a swift uptick in immigrant deportations. As a result, Ivanka was bombarded in the comments for being “tone deaf.”
The story concluded with an ominous threat.
As for the situation involving mass arrests, deportations, and disappearances of immigrants, people are still taking to the streets in protest and spreading beyond Los Angeles. This ain’t over yet.

They forgot one of the most important rules of posting on social media. Don’t post photos of yourself still using the exact stance and arm placement taught to you by a surf instructor years after supposedly “learning” to surf. And the rule about posting photos of yourself on a wave that is not breaking and probably never did. Oh, and the one about posting photos of wakesurfing, flowrider riding, or any other pursuit that is not surfing while you refer to it as surfing.
Even if her father was Gandhi, shitting on rich celebrities who surf is important work that must be done.

“Aryan views” unfairly attaches bigotry to being white, as if to say if not for white racists Gandhi would not have held racist views. He’s Indian, and a racist Indian. He didn’t need an assist from white people.
Difference is that I use the traditional definition of “Aryan” as opposed to the Nazi definition. Look it up, you might learn something unless you are saying you view things from a Nazi standpoint.
Well, scholars differ on opinions on “Aryan”. The Sanskrit word “arya” meaning noble of distinguished was a social rather than an ethnic epithet.
I guess we are scholars than. Bottom line is that we are saying the exact same thing.

so Ghandi spent 20 +_years in South Africa , he arrived as a 21 yr old after finishing his law degree in London , was a product of the english colonial system….so yeah some of his early writings were, what is now considered racist , but he evolved/ developed his /satyagraha”-non -violent resistance , where he became a global symbol of civil rights and Justice.
Ghandi went back to India and changed the world we live in, for ..the better,and boke the back of english colonial rule in India…pretty amazing the affect 1 person can have on the world!
