"Lets fight our way there. One Wave At A Time."
How annoyed are you with surfing, at this point in your journey? Be honest. Quit-lit pieces trended hard, here, just a few years ago and discussions of frustration and failure percolate both above and below the line. We are on a fool’s errand, to be quite frank, but what if you, as a beleaguered participant in what was advertised to be “The Sport of Kings,” have finally had enough?
Well, have ya, punk?
If so, there is a new pastime sweeping the almost-nation of Australia.
Wave fighting.
Dave, who enjoys fighting waves in Byron Bay and I suppose elsewhere, has launched an Instagram account featuring both his skill and the art of wave fighting, which, as it turns, is self explanatory.
Punching and and kicking waves.
Etc.
I’m in and so should you be.

are there winners and losers?
Wonder What Dave Rastovich thinks about all this?
I’ve broken into a machete amnesty bin…tooled up and on my way to Byron..see you cunts there
He is cooked. Most possibly hangs with Bylsey
Machete amnesty bin?
that’s a thing?
yep we have it here in Victoria affectionately known as the nanny state….it is the weapon of choice for young gang members!
It’s also the most utilitarian tool ever to hit the bush.
There is not a day I don’t pass by many happy locals with one on their way to their land.
Get those young gang members a good pistol so bushwhackers can keep their machetes…
They make em out of plastic now ! Although the ammo makes for a horrible death I’ve heard
LOL.
I remember doing similar when I was like… 6 years old.
One of my favourite small wave pastimes with the seven year old. best is the one inch kick on a just-breaking ankle high wave that sends spray flying like Sunny hitting a close out.
You can do it with your board too – particularly effective hitting a little close out with a lid if you have one on hand.
Almost-nation got me.
This is quit-lit adjacent and I’m here for it
You hate waves Chas
Don Q had windmills
What a cunt
I want to see him take on Shore Acres, South of Coos Bay, before I pass judgement.

Then head south and there is the first part of the QS, challenger or whatever…..
Most people call that “kids playing in the ocean”except it’s used in reference to 10 yr olds.
Should we be worried that Chas is struggling to find content these days?
It’s anti-depressive!
Count me in. All those closeouts at Zuma now have a purpose for their existence.
LOL
