Side note regarding G.T. I hit the reef really bad at v land about 16 years ago ( the left out there is gnarly shallow ). It messed me up pretty bad and I floated into the beach and was struggling to walk to my car.
G.T. was there getting ready to paddle out and he offered to drive me to kahuku hospital. Very nice guy. If he had known how hard I had roasted him online on post surf ( remember that sailor outfit he wore? ) he might have punched me instead of offering me a ride.
