Days ago, attendees of Belmar, New Jersey’s City Council meeting learned that the city’s famed surf camp did not have a current operator. Its contract with Summertime Surf, which had given private lessons on Belmar’s gorgeous beach for the past decade, had expired in 2024.
Councilwoman Caitlin Donovan, stunned that surfing season was approaching so quickly with no accredited surf instruction institution in the fold, gasped, “I think time is of the essence here…” as she noted that other camps are already open for registration, and potential vendors will be looking to lock in dates quickly.
The Council very much agreed that the license must hurriedly go up for auction though have yet to pick a date leaving you, dreamer, with time.
But how much would you bid for the exclusive right to push excited folk into Atlantic ripples?
“Belmar was voted in 2014, the #1 beach in Central Jersey in the Top Ten Beaches Competition, and #6 in all of New Jersey,” the town’s website boasts, continuing:
Our beaches are home to the most colorful and fun beach playgrounds in New Jersey. In addition to this series of playgrounds every few blocks, several of our beaches are devoted to activities like boogie boarding, kayaking and surfing. We even offer a surf camp at 3rd Ave. Beach, where kids of all ages can take surfing lessons. For older beachgoers who prefer dry land activities, several of our beaches are equipped with poles for volleyball nets.
It is one of those sandy utopias which requires a “beach badge” so the riffraff certainly won’t be there clogging up the surf camp’s good work.

Considering that they’re known by less people in New Jersey than in Southern California (a bit more than the most of the U.S. of A., and a heck of a lot more than the rest of the English speaking western world), perhaps the Tate brothers would be suitable franchisees for a New Jersey surf school.
Maybe it’d boost their YouTube subscription count.
Though Snooki and The Situation (ex-stars of the television masterpiece New Jersey Shore), would be a good option, seeing as they’re more well-known internationally.
Or maybe the legendary BG principals Chas ‘n’ Dezz could stump up a few bob and get it themselves and have Keith Grace (hehe) run it.

hey B&B…..when talking about the Tates especially andy…..Ok , lets get down to it with some global statistics….about 1/3 of young high school students follow Andrew Tate……he is mostly know about , by young males from the age of 6 – 16….claims that 92% are aware of the Tates…with over 30% following his philosophy’s actively………Andrew tate is the most influential male for young men …perhaps he’s not the well know in the USA,yet….as he has concentrated his efforts in the UK/Europe….so yes the total % might be small ….but amongst our youth he is one of the most influential creatures on this planet….and that’s not a good thing!

Jersey Shore (south of Belmar) dad of teen boys checking in… I can assure/guarantee you that the Tates are well known around here. I want absolutely nothing to do with running a surf camp here in the summer months. My primary summer pastimes are counting down the days to Labor Day and bogging rail while sweating in the ocean.
Tell you what. Our beaches are a fuckin’ disgrace.

Wow. This is news to me and I live about 20 mins. south of Belmar. Thanks for delivering my “local news” from California. Now I need to dig for myself on this one. Summertime Surf has been a staple in Belmar if I’m not mistaken. There is one other camp as well who sets up oh so close to Belmar as well.
You could rename Summertime Surf ‘SS New Jersey Chapter’ and Elon might even fund you.

The market got hammered — mostly by Trumps tariffs as nearly everyone had predicted and agreed on. Compare the market under trumps term vs biden, obama, and trump’s first term. The differences are indisputable.

Take the Dow Jones. November 5th, 2024, Election Day, Dow closed at approximately 42,417. Huge upswing next day, even though Trump wasn’t even in office. Today, the Dow closed at approximately 42,319.
