Take the aforementioned Slater, for example, I think he should be embarrassed introducing his 52-year-old self as “boyfriend” or talking about his “girlfriend” and yet he appears to feel no such compunction.

A far as Trump goes, he became a Christian around 2016, and by all indications is devout. His views about faith and faith related issues have significantly evolved as is the case when you accept Christ into your life.
Prior to that he was raised as a Presbyterian, which is a religion not a faith. There’s a huge difference.
