Source reveals Mossimo tomcattin’ around town led to shock split from Aunt Becky

“Truly, the tipping point came when Lori found a bunch of text messages.”

Two weeks ago, surf industry watchers were stunned into silence after it was revealed that power couple Mossimo Giannulli, founder of the iconic beach lifestyle brand Mossimo, and America’s sweetheart Lori Loughlin were calling it quits after nearly 20 years of marriage.

Mossimo, the brand, was much adored by surfers everywhere and worn with pride, especially when the waves went flat, a net was hung on the sand, a ball pumped to the right psi and a fresh bottle of Hawaiian Tropic tanning oil cracked open.

Laughlin, of course, winning surfers near and far with her toothsome turn as Aunt Becky on the Ocean Beach-adjacent sitcom Full House.

The pair entered hot water in 2019 when it was revealed that they paid a fixer $500,000 to get their daughters into USC. The “Varsity Blues Scandal,” as it came to be called, ended with both Giannulli and Loughlin going to jail.

Conventional wisdom, of course, suggests the family who brigs together sicks together, making the split that much more stunning.

Well, an inside source has revealed that the straw that broke the Trojan’s back, as it were, was Giannulli’s wandering eye. “Truly, the tipping point came when Lori found a bunch of text messages,” he/she shared with Page Six, calling them “incriminating” and adding, “Mossimo had used Lori for years. She was hoping maybe he would change when he got out of prison, but he got worse.”

Tomcattin’ around.

Giannulli was recently snapped with a stylist outside his upscale Beverly Hills golf boutique though she quickly responded it was “bad timing” and they had simply met to shop with each other.

Laughlin, for her part, “simply wants to get her life back.”

The end of an era, I suppose.

So long, Camelot.

I wonder how many perfectly good affairs have been undone by those pesky text messages?

People, they come together. People, they fall apart. No one can stop us now. We are all made of stars.
