Rare Whale Shark, a Symbol of Wonder for Israelis, Killed and Butchered in Gaza

An endangered Whale Shark, which had thrilled beachgoers in Israel last week and subsequently named Ofek or Horizon by marine conservationists, has learned the hard way that there’s a helluva difference between attitudes to life and death between the progressive Jew and the Islamist Gazan. 

Ofek the Whale Shark was filmed frolicking in the waters off Ashdod and Netanya, two joints your ol pal DR can vouch for, good waves, real nice people, including the slightly chubby security gal with the pistol strapped onto her wildly alluring thigh, before swinging into the Gazan part of the Med where he was either washed ashore or hunted by fishermen, likely the latter given this quote.

In this video from Khan Younis, you can see Ofek dragged ashore and butchered with knives and saws by happy Gazans, who haven’t been this excited for a butchering since twelve-hundred Israelis were murdered two years back.

Responses from progressives and animal rights activists was muted for it does dampen the fetishisation of the Gazan, very similar to the WSL and their Magic Elf syndrome and its patronising approach to People of Color.

It was left to Israelis to remember ol Ofek the Whale Shark. 

This whale shark was by our shore in Israel for almost a month and we left him alone . He just arrived at the Gaza shores in these last days and this happens…poor thing. They do the same to the birds that migrate, such cruelty in this culture.

Aren’t whale sharks an endangered species? Where’s Greta? Where are the free Palestine protesters? Smh

A few comments re: starvation, Jews not letting aid through but the vision of the butchering reveals dozens of well-fed and boisterous men, none in urgent need of a Whale Shark steak.

The Whale Shark flesh, if you’re wondering, is often prepared fresh, dried, salted, or smoked, with a texture and mild flavor somewhat akin to swordfish or beef, although riddled with mercury.
