In what has become a genre for southern Californian drone pilots, a teenager with a bird has filmed the wild ol moment a Great White shark stalks a kid on a bodyboard only to veer away at the last second.
Great White Drone is an Instagram and YouTube account run by a teen who’s been filming the Great White, which has exploded in numbers in southern California, for the past five years. This clip below is, uh, four years old. Yeah, real new, but no less exciting for its agedness.
GREAT WHITE STALKS KID
Kid on a booger is paddling, kicking his heart out, when the Great White, an eight-footer maybe, juvie, gets on his tail, maybe a foot or so away, before splitting.
“This is one of the most viral great white shark encounters of all time on YouTube with over 15 million views on my channel GreatWhiteDronE, and for good reason. This was definitely an encounter where I got very nervous watching from the controller! Luckily all turned out fine.”
Below the line, the drone filmer, who was a mile away catching the footage, got plenty of heat for not warning the booger pilot.

Also among the comments, the line that Great White don’t like humans.
Once again it shows that in clear water when they can see us very clearly they don’t indiscriminately attack humans as we aren’t on their to eat list.

it wasn’t feeding time. Can’t tell me that because I carried my brother out of the water after an attack. Every creature has a different brain. Never know what one is thinking.
The kid answers his critiques in a sweet lil voiceover in the YouTube clip.
“A lot of people in the comments were telling me I was wrong not to warn the child. I chose not to put the warning beeping on the drone because it might scare the person off their board and that would be more of a dangerous situation.
“The shark swims parallel to the child then turns towards to child. I’m not n nervous yet. I was a bit nervous when the shark got a foot or two away from this child but it was still not acting aggressive. This is a juvenile Great White shark and juvenile means youngh and like any young person or animal, this shark is very curious to its surroundings and it just wanted to check this kid out.
Notice here that when the shark turns away from the child it realises that that child is not food or a fish or a ray. It is just a human swimming and enjoying the waves. And the shark just wanted to play with the surfers right after this and you can this here.
