Oh, I’ll be the first to admit. That’s just straight fake news. “World Sexist League” is not trending after the World Surf League (though both acronym’d WSL) announced a groundbreaking “dedicated Maternity Wildcard” for the vaunted Championship Tour starting in 2027.
Per the presser:
A dedicated Maternity Wildcard has been established, starting in 2027, for female athletes taking a break from CT competition due to pregnancy. For 2027, Johanne Defay (FRA) has been awarded the Maternity Wildcard, and Tatiana Weston-Webb(BRA) has been awarded the WSL Season Wildcard. Both will return to compete full-time on the CT next season.
Very fine and the bros certainly don’t need any more favors. Let’s not forget, there is a dedicated Kelly Slater Wildcard that only goes to men named Kelly Slater so…
