In some pretty emotional scenes at Newcastle, the Israeli surfer Anat Lelior has become the first Israeli surfer to qualify for the world tour, prompting an outpouring of love from some of the biggest names in the biz including sexy senior Shane Dorian, ageless surf god Brad Gerlach and multi-pronged world champ Carissa Moore.
Mercifully, the usual platoons of Jew-haters were mostly absent with one comment, Free Palestine, generating a little push-back, something y’wouldn’t have seen one year ago.

In 2011, a bomb exploded at the Argana Café in Jemaa el-Fna square, which is a real popular tourist spot in Marrakech, killing 17 people (including 10 foreigners) and injuring over 20.
In 2018, two Scandinavian backpackers were murdered, beheaded if you wanna to be precise, in the Atlas Mountains. The murderers posted a video of the beheadings online.

Moroccans were over represented in the Islamist cell that killed 191 people and injured over 1800 in the Madrid bombings of 2004.
The coordinated attacks in Paris in 2015, which killed 130 people and injured hundreds more was the plan of the Moroccan-born Abdelhamid Abaaoud,

That same year a Moroccan went wild with a knife in Finland, killing two and injuring eight.

So you could understand why someone like the two-time Olympian from Tel Aviv might want to fly under the radar in Morocco.
Anyway, she’s qualified for the world tour, congrats etc, and as the tour only hits one country with Sharia Law, the UAE, and that might be cancelled ’cause of Trump’s Mullah takedown, the Degel Yisrael can fly proudly.

Has the author of this slander been to a Morocco Surf towns or know anything about the history of Morocco? There would be no Sephardim rich Jewish culture without Morocco or Moroccans. Historically minorities faired much better in places like Morocco than they did in Europe. Maimonides without the sponsorship at the court of Moroccan dynasties would not have produced works that is the pinnacle of Jewish philosophical tradition and used erroneously as part of “Judeo-Christian values”. Morocco was a haven for Jews and welcomed Jewish refugees expelled from Europe in numerous waves, most significantly from Spain in the 15th century following Europe’s “slaying of the infidel” through that continent’s inquisition and numerous pogroms. Both my Grandparents on both sides had excellent relations with their Jewish neighbours, lived side by side in villages 1000 kms apart.
Moroccans in the modern era have targeted Jewish people ONCE in Casablanca. Israelis to this day including observant Jews from there visit the tombs of their saints unbothered. Also Muslims don’t see Jews or Christians as infidels, but people of the book.
There was zero visible threat or evidence that Anat faced danger in her participation in a surfing competition. If you have it please provide details of it?
We must not tarnish a nation that is incredibly welcoming to visitors the world over for the actions of individuals, if we were to do that then there would not be a millisecond rest in reminding those in the west of the crimes committed by people that say they’re upholding western values in theatres of war such as Afghanistan, where you’ll know that Australians are in coalition with war crimes committed against Afghans with Americans and Brits.

I almost linked a video of Israeli holiday makers, in a tourist town in Bahia State, fighting pro-Palestinian, Brazilian demonstrators.
Apparently the town gets a massive push from Israeli soldiers/ former soldiers at this time of year, and clearly the demonstrators were choosing that moment to stir the pot. Sounds like hell to me; but I’m sure the local business owners appreciate the business.
