Surfers around the globe are in shock, this morning, staggering like drunkards around parquet floor’d living rooms, trying to make sense of a reality that has been flipped upside down. The cause of such consternation? Travel + Leisure, the first name in both travel and leisure, releasing its highly anticipated “most frustrating beaches in the world” list.
The august publication used information dragged from Tripadvisor reviews, focusing on the keywords: dirtiness, overcrowding, long lines, and noise. It then attached a “complaint score” between zero and one hundred based on frequency. Afterwards, the numbers were put into a hopper, spun by a magic computer and boom.

Shock, then, when Oahu’s famed Waikiki took the ignominy followed by California’s Venice. Playa Manuel Antonio, in Costa Rica, came third. Clearwater Beach, in Florida and where Hulk Hogan’s heart just stopped pumping, fourth. Bournemouth Beach in jolly old England, fifth. La Jolla Cove, in America’s finest San Diego, sixth. Bondi, home to Derek Rielly, ninth.
Mauricio Preuss, CEO of the company tasked with compiling the list, tried to comfort surfers by declaring, “The most rewarding beach experiences might be found at lesser-known destinations that haven’t yet been overwhelmed by mass tourism. Sometimes the best paradise is the one that isn’t trending on TikTok.”
But to no avail.
Honolulu and Venice, La Jolla and Bondi will never be the same.
In all honesty, I’m a massive Waikiki fan and hope online complainers keep it coming.

I ewas chatting to some local people last year about all the foreign investment/foreign workers/Java/Lombok etc….and asked them what do you think about it…the reply was sort of stunning….yes they were upset before Covid, but when Covid hit and tourism ground to a halt……starvation became an issue, as there was 0 money no help from the Govt…so they are still hurting from no business….to tourism keeps them alive

A Florida (Obama appointed) federal judge shot down the Trump administration’s bid Wednesday to release grand jury transcripts from an investigation that ended in notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein taking a much-criticized plea deal in 2008.
West Palm Beach US District (OBAMA APPOINTED) Judge Robin Rosenberg wrote in a 12-page ruling that “the Court’s hands are tied” because the request by the government to release the transcripts was not tied to an ongoing trial. The guy’s dead..release the files.

The US Justice Department’s deputy chief met on Friday (US time) for a second day with Ghislaine Maxwell, the imprisoned accomplice of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, whose infamous case has dragged President Donald Trump into a political firestorm.
Todd Blanche, the DOJ number two who is also Trump’s former personal attorney, has declined for now to say what he is discussing with Maxwell in their Tallahassee, Florida meetings.
….point being, the Trump administration is doing everything possible to get to the bottom of this whole Epstein thing. Good for them.
As for Blanche, great to see him meeting with Maxwell. He’ll probably meet with her many more times. Important for him to corroborate her testimony and make sure what she’s saying is true and factual. Heard she’s being subpoenaed to speak with Congress, as are Bill and Hillary.

would be nice if the courts would unseal the the grand jury transcripts. would make it a lot easier to corroborate stories and ensure truthfulness.

Trump ordered the Justice Department to get the courts to unseal all the testimony, evidence and documents. Trump ordered Justice to interview Maxwell. whatever you want to believe about him, at least he’s the first person to try to investigate Epstein….and the only man that voluntarily testified against Epstein in the Florida case.
