And it was during the question about guns, and with handfuls of phones filming, Kirk ate the fatal slug.
The shooter is yet to be ID’d and an ol man being dragged away from the scene screaming “I have the right to remain silent” was deemed not to be responsible for Kirk’s murder although he was charged with obstruction of justice.
Tulsi Gabbard, leading surfer reactions, and before Kirk’s death was official, wrote on Instagram, “Please pray for my friend Charlie Kirk. My heart is with him, his wife and children during this critical time.”

Right-wing lightning rod Bethany Hamilton, long a regular on these pages, wrote: “Condolences to the Kirk family in this devastating time. May the Lord bless and keep you and provide all that you need to endure this pain and hardship. So much violence and hate these days.. The states seems cooked. I watched “7 different angles” of Kirk getting it yesterday. I wish I had not as I can’t unsee it. Celebrating murder is a sign we are lost lost lost. Being opposed politically does not mean the person is less human or deserving of death. I hope for better, but fear for the worst after yesterday’s display.

Five long years of getting punched in the heart! No escape. Didn’t surf for much of that time had to be pumping or I would sit in lineup and just cry wishing he was next to me sharing waves. The only true wealth you have is your kids. No amount of money can get them back. Everything else is replaceable. Have a friend who just lost an eye to surfing going take a miracle to save it. I’d trade my eye and it all to have my kid normal again. If I make nineteen more years most likely I will be sincerely calling some young man a pussy or too I promise..

I have just gone through metal health issues with 19 year old daughter – she melted down progressively through yr 12 – thinks i am biggest muppet walking the planet still – 2 years plus deep in that
But she fucking punched through somehow to uni with a mindblowing result – so much self-pressure.
My 17 year old twin doing year 11 – has admitted serious gaming addiction ( i praise his admission) but now can’t concentrate in anything – hardly talks, low self esteem it goes on. this week i have had to intervene

some suggestions for the kids issues.
first. take the family on a trip, road trip or bounce off to an island somewhere. NO ELECTRONICS! just family, fun, nature, life. one of the biggest problems we face as parents these days is the influence of “Progressivism”, electronics and social media. it sucks the soul out of our children and causes mental health issues.
gaming: set limits. 1 hour per day. instead of electronic devices, buy some board games, monopoly, scrabble, Yahtzee, then instead of the kids retiring to the room with their devices, put the devices in your room, take them away after an hour, set up a board game and play with the family.
you dont have to discipline them as much as teach them discipline.
next, take your kids to the gym with you…that will give them energy, and help with self esteem. get a few baseball gloves or a football and play catch with them or if you have boxing gym nearby, teach em how to box.
Nothing like learning to box to build self esteem. they will find the fun of physical activity’s like just playing catch is much more fun than video games. when you find things to replace the social media and gaming, the addiction will go away.
I have three kids of varied ages. Family time is the most important thing for raising children….because every little step you make to engage them, it shows them your love. as I said before, seek out a charity or organization and volunteer, volunteer with your kids. It will teach them the joy of giving and service and bring you all closer together as a family.
regarding fucking up in business, every entrepreneur knows the feeling. we all feel it, failures and successes are just part of business.thing is you’d be surprised how proud of you, your kids are…they see you work hard even in the face of adversity…and they truly appreciate every effort you make.
My older kids tell me how important watching their mom and dad work, fail succeed, fail succeed, rinse repeat was to them because the one thing they knew was no matter how hard things are, we only wanted a better life for them. You’ve got this brother. wake up tomorrow, look out at the sea, the sky, YOUR WORLD and give thanks and say: I’m gonna have a great day….then make it a great day.

I get it. most of us have been there. life can be very difficult especially when we are questioning our value/purpose. years ago I was a bad guy, I mean a real bad guy. there was only one thing that saved me. God.
I know it sounds cliche to say, but God literally saved my life, and the people whose lives I was affecting. For years I was riddled with guilt.
you may not believe but honestly, when you let God into your life, you will learn how valuable you are. if you look at every day as a gift and wake up giving thanks and looking forward to the adventures that day will bring….it will change your life.
your comment about not fitting in (below), and business “gone wrong”…I truly know that feeling, all too well, but when you decide not to let this temporal world affect your spirit, happiness will come.
from what I recall you helped CB through a tough time, so if can suggest whether you tune into God or not, I would suggest you find a place to volunteer, a charity or organization that would benefit from your skills and kindness. You will soon come to know how valuable you truly are just by helping others.

It’s seems really hard as you look for reasons why all these things happen to you and your family…I looked and lived a lot of dak things in my life ……and as Happy camper says…God saved him…….as it did I as answers the questions you are seeking and replaces uncertainty/darkness / hopelessness with an understanding of their is higher entity who loves ya…….and all answers are given in the Bible, and living a Christian life which is about Light/Peace /hope…and make you thankful and grateful for what you have, warts and all….. and to care and give to others before yourself …..or at least try and have faith…..you sound like a great dad/husband father…..those speed bumps in life …like the business failings , guilt over your children’s shortcomings……..are just that…I have made hideous business decisions, been a pretty nasty violent person ….but it was a road that led me to being born again…so there’s a logic to life………..

The covid restrictions (2020/21) obviously had nothing to do with the guns being taken away in the aftermath of Port Arthur (1996). Covid restrictions were very tight where I live (Victoria) but most people knew it was their civic duty to do the right thing. We don’t have as many dickheads in Victoria as in other “frontier” states so it really wasn’t that big of a deal to wear the mask and follow social distancing. Quarantine bothered many people but it actually wasn’t that bad. Had to do it myself of course. The worst thing was probably how tight we were with international travel (hard to leave/return), but that was a federal restriction not a state one.
