“They chanted White Lives Matter. It was disgusting”
The feted surfing metropolis of Huntington Beach, America’s official Surf City, is justifiably famous for many things: the US Open of Surfing, occasional riots, barn-like surf shops, a stretch of sand that sometimes gets real good, though most often not although surfing the pier is a test of skill and bravery, and one of the better humoured surfers to come out of southern California, the US Olympic surf coach Brett Simpson.
Also, Huntington Beach is famous for cancelling black history month and maybe not letting gorgeous cross-dressers read to kids at school.

And, it probs didn’t come as a surprise to anyone in Huntington Beach when, according to leftist Instagram accounts, “A neo-Nazi rally erupted in honour of Charlie Kirk’s death. They’re chanting, ‘white man, fight back.”
Another posted, “The scene underscored how extremists are exploiting the assassination to fuel racist calls to violence.
Reactions to the vision were uniformly unkind.
I live in Canada. Right now, it feels like I’m living above a meth lab about to explode.
“What are they fighting back? They’re the perpetrators.”
“I am a woman of color and have lived in Huntington Beach for the last 25 years. This city can get very scary at times.”
And, pointedly, from Gina Clayton-Tarvin, a local Dem,
“I live here in Huntington Beach, I’m a local elected official, on the school board. I am one of the only Democrats in office and have been fighting this Neo Nazi movement for over a decade. If you look closely, in the crowd, you can see one of the HB city council members, Councilman Butch Twining. He was amongst those chanting. Our city council consists of 7 alt right ultra MAGA Republicans who have made a sport of purposefully instigating and agitating the community with stunts like calling themselves the “Magnificat 7,” banning books they deem to be “Porn” from the public library, paying thousands for a giant plague in front of the public library that has a MAGA inscription. They have banned the Pride Flag. They passed a resolution naming themselves a “non sanctuary city in CA,” so that they can work with ICE. They celebrated wanting to deport our neighbors. The mayor, a former Long Beach police officer keeps a bust of Donald Trump on the dais during city council meetings, and more outrageous partisan antics. Look at my profile to see some recent posts on what I’ve been doing to stop their bigoted actions, including when they illegally erected an AI surveillance camera on school OUR property, without the school board’s permission, to surveil our students (whose parents who happen to primarily be Latino). We won, the camera is gone. Rest assured, we will keep fighting these people and all they stand for!”
Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was murdered five days ago midway through one of his famous debates by a sniper shooting from a nearby building. His kids and wife saw their dad, husband, eat the slug and bleed out in front of ’em.
