There were some moments. I think, in part, what made this comp special was the excitement of the locals. Having a raucous crowd on the beach is fun. Plus, they actually ran full days instead of two heats at a time like in Portugal, so no hose.
Some moments? You can’t be serious. It was an incredible contest with world class conditions and incredible surfing!

Great quezzy mate and absolutely loved it. As far as first time arrivals I still reckon the Mexico search event was better. I like the shortness and abruptness of Cloud JSC but those long roping walls at Barra were just next level for me.
I hate to mention downsides but that over score of Pip last night just disgusted me and so did the commentary during it and at other parts of the event too. Fucking mental event though yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew
Hilarious listening to all the early comments about ‘piddly, looks so cute and fun, hoax, easy peasy, does even break,’ cloud nine.
Meanwhile, it, still no where near all time, dished out an unmatched broken body and equipment count. Reminded me of the cliff at blax, listening to no idea suspects, drivelling about where they are from, and the beating they are about to dish out to the ‘short, fun looking, shouldery little fat hander.’ Which meanwhile was an 8 foot, low tide, draining sledgehammer, just waiting to hurl them into oblivion and obliterate their chariots. Which it regularly did.
