Surf fans mourn after it-boy Timothee Chalamet declares he will never film a surfing movie

"Surfing movie never."

Surf fans are a waking up in a dour mood, this morning, with a long-held dream thoroughly dashed. Ever since breaking onto the scene as Armie Hammer’s underage lover in Call Me by your Name, Timothée Chalamet has topped the list of surf film leading man hopes. Hollywood, as you know, dusts off the surf genre every decade, or such, and surf fans could almost taste Chalamet playing a young surf explorer coming-of-age in Bali or him playing a young surf shop owner caught up in a New Smyrna romance triangle.

Alas, none of it will ever be after the boyish 30-year-old openly declared “surfing movie never” on his social media after apparently falling into lake water whilst trying to e-foil.

Surf Fans Mourn After It-Boy Timothee Chalamet Declares He Will Never Film A Surfing Movie 3

Though he is pictured standing on the board regular-footed, he might be a goofy.

Surf fans, in any case, will have to sate their Chalamet-as-surfer hunger by watching him surf giant worms in a desert.

I tried to post a gift link, but it disappeared into the ether.

Looks like Chas’ nephew has taken after his uncle and is doing reports from behind the front lines. His first book is on the way

Brett Barley’s surf vlog is called Life of Water. Lame, but almost name would sound just as lame.

if a surf company paid you $72,000 a year to start a surf vlog that follows you, surfing around your area, what would you call your own? Best answer wins a Watch emoji.

Also, concerning the State of the Chat. All of last week you’ll had me continuously laughing out loud, in pretty much every single article.

I think that we’re doing better than we know. Maybe not a BG golden age, but better than we think. I suspect that in 2029 we’ll look at 2026 as “the good times.” Thanks for all the stupid and silly laughs.

Took off pre dawn for a surf today and got royally skunked. Misaligned swell and onshore wind made for total garbage, even if it looked alright from the beach. Almost time to burn the remaining surfboards (give them away) and take up power walking instead.

DSS&S

Here’s timeless set of golden age surfing goals:

  1. Go to Tahiti and see bare-breasted women.
  2. Surf in Australia. We didn’t know much about it but knew there had to be surf there.
  3. Go to Africa and see wild animals and tribes.
  4. Attend the Olympic Games in Rome for 1960.
  5. Run with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.

Dick Metz. Heard of him?

PULL QUOTE: So for three or four days, we drove from Arusha across Tanganyika and into the Rhodesias. Finally, in the middle of the night—he was driving—he wakes me up. I was sound asleep, and he said, “Well, here we are at Victoria Falls. That’s where you wanted to get out.” I looked out the window, it’s one in the morning, there were a couple of fires and two or three little huts like there are in all these little villages. Of course, no lights, nobody around, no buildings of any kind, just little huts.

I said to him, “I forget, where did you tell me you were going?” And he said, “I’m going to Cape Town.” And I said, “That’s on the beach coast, isn’t it?” And he said, “Yeah. It’s the tip of Africa.” And I said, “Screw it, I can see Victoria Falls later. I’ll go with you to Cape Town.”

If we had arrived in the middle of the day, I might have got out and stayed and not gone to Cape Town – and Mike and Robert might not have scored perfect Cape Saint Francis in the Endless Summer. It’s funny the way the ball bounces. That particular moment was the key decision that changed the lives of tens of thousands of people in the surfing world.

I thought this might be Part II of your longboard confession with a play on Brokeback Mtn. Not judging of course….

GUI discovery.
If you look at the top of a discussion you should see a box proudly stating My Replies.
If you don’t see that then you have none and are unloved.
But if you do see it then click/tap on it and you’ll see some replies. Tap on a reply and it does nothing but if you long press (I guess right click) on the repliers name you should get a contextual menu offering you the opportunity to open. Open that and it’ll take you to the thread and land on the replies position within the thread..
Free of charge to all except Joanie Semen Cunt. Like a true cunt he tries to sell his discoveries and so can pay like a mofo. Hahahahar

Mmmm tried, but it’s still a few awkward steps process on a totally unintuitive platform. Disqus is far superior.

Clicking on your name or profile picture should take you to a “home” page where all the info should be, but just takes me to this dead end.

Do you get emails when someone replies?

Sofa Surfer

TY. It’s still clunky and glitchy, but I did manage to navigate to a reply that way. Baby steps…

DSS&S

outta fear of the Kelvin Wave or of artificial worms? depends on which front foot is favored~

Greebnurt Hurkurmurgurt

Needs more Sauza. And drink the worm. Like a man.

Barrelled

Doesn’t count if you don’t chew up the worm first (granted that’s Mezcal, not tequila).

Some have been known to mix that worm with a shroom button or two or so I’ve been told

Picard Madeoff (Disqus)

Left is always forward. The only worms I’m familiar with rest at the bottom of a Mezcal bottle
