Macho MAGA Men and The Great Feminization

Are anti-discrimination laws to blame for the decline and fall of America?

Conservative political commentator and author Helen Andrews published a damning assessment of America’s current state, days ago, issuing a stark warning that if the country does not change its ways, collapse is just over the horizon.

The number one problem, as she sees, is “The Great Feminization.”

American institutions, from business to education, media to law to medicine to science, you see, have all become increasingly, if not overwhelmingly, “feminized” during the past few decades as more as more women become employed and claw up that proverbial ladder. As a result, Andrews argues, “feminine” traits such prioritizing emotions over rational thinking, conflict-aversity, drive to consensus as opposed to hard results, an inward focus, etc. have come to mark this country, overwhelming the swashbuckling get ‘er done values of old.

World Wars won etc.

The outcome, wokeness, bitchiness, arbitrary naggy mean girl stuff sans reason nor level-headedness, the ability to separate the greater good from self-interest.

In short, the cultural dystopia we currently inhabit.

Anti-discrimination laws, she declares, are to blame. Pressing thumb on scale and artificially infusing women, and minorities, I suppose, into business, education, media, law, medicine and science instead of whoever most deserves the job. The only way back to greatness is a return to the rose-tinted meritocracy of the pre-1960s wherein the most qualified landed on top.

There’s one little problem, here, and being conservative, maybe understandable why Andrews missed.

Charlie Kirk.

The very public shooting death of the popular rightwing influencer whilst he spoke at a Utah college event horrified, then quickly polarized, the nation. Kirk’s fanbase was, and is, overwhelmingly male and very much celebrated the traditional values Andrews suggests are being trampled by The Great Feminization.

Except.

In the immediate aftermath hot tears flowed down stubbly red cheeks and anyone, anyone, who dared utter even the softest critique of Kirk’s message was marched straight out to the mothballed Cancel Culture guillotines, heads lopped right off. Mobs sent out to hound employers until offending employees were fired. A general paranoid freeze on any conversation that wasn’t cloyingly worshipful of the college student debater.

Sour emotion.

I am sometimes force fed macho men espousing Kirk-adjacent macho men ideals and yet the platform is to-camera Instagram spiels, head framed just so, squealing and whining and moaning, often shirtless.

Very clearly craving “likes” and responding to heart emoji comments with heart emojis.

So.

Is the right becoming feminized, as well, or is the general pendulum swing toward emotional overreaction not, in fact, related to sex, or even political persuasion, but rather a creeping myopic, selfish, siloed ignorance. A genuine paranoid knee-quaking fear of any alternative discourse. An utter lack of curiosity. A profound intellectual dishonesty that infects all of the aforementioned American institutions.

U.S. President Donald Trump furiously re-posting social media memes from his bed, make-up removed for the night, while multi-task designing a gilded ballroom ain’t exactly Chuck Norris behavior.
